An Experienced Fresh
Set Of Eyes For LaSalle

About Myself

Living in LaSalle has truly been a great experience, even if it has been for just over 10 years.  Growing up in South Windsor, my family was always close to LaSalle (Sandwich West).  Both my parents, and my wife have been residents of LaSalle for 20+ years, and are looking to spend many more years calling LaSalle home.  I personally believe that this town has so much potential to be even more amazing that it already is.  Having recently rebuilt our home here, I am not going anywhere anytime soon, and I’m excited to become a long time resident of LaSalle.

I have many passions in life, my family of course is right up there on the list.  As a family we enjoy going for walks with our dogs, watching (and coaching) baseball at Turtle Club, and traveling when possible to make memories together.  In addition to family life, I have a passion for veterans, and the military community.  I have founded two Non-Profit Organizations focusing on Veterans, one right here locally that is spreading across the country (www.adoptavet.ca) which helps veterans that have outlived all their friends and family making sure they are not forgotten during the holidays. The second is based out of Texas (www.allairbornebattalion.com) where we ensure veterans legacies are never forgotten by performing at airshows jumping from WW2 C47 aircraft.  We perform these shows all over Canada, USA and Europe teaching the history of the heroes that gave us the freedoms we enjoy today.

Strategic Plan

I believe in working for the public, and if you know me, I put 110% effort into everything I do. If you decide to trust your vote with me, I will ensure that your voice is heard and you will be kept in the loop along the way.
With LaSalle growing so fast I personally want to,

          • Ensure we are being fiscally responsible allowing for sustainability.  This is a must.
          • Dive into why we continually see the property taxes rise year after year.  Seniors on fixed income that have lived here all their lives are being pushed out of our town.
          • Ensuring transparency, and communication are greatly improved between the council and the community.  As an example, citizens should not have to subscribe to the Windsor Star to find out their property is being expropriated.  Whenever there is something proposed that would impact your property, all impacted residents should have a letter dropped off (hand delivered even) to their homes months in advance so if there are any issues they can be brought up to council.
          • Make sure infrastructure is there to support the fast growth we have been seeing over the past 10 years.
          • See if anything can be done to many intersections throughout the Town (sooner rather than later),
for example: traffic light at Reaume / Malden rd.
          • look into making some of the parks (if not all) accessible for all to use.  With the current design of some that are supposedly “accessible” wheelchairs have a hard time getting to the equipment.
          • Ensure Green space is at the top of the priority list when conducting new development.  Once Green space is gone, it is gone for good.
          • Create a better working relationship between the Town and all the businesses who call LaSalle home.

Civic Priorities

I think LaSalle is an amazing place to live with tons of potential.  Personally, I think we just need to be careful to not grow too fast as we need to ensure certain infrastructure is there to support the growth
As far as municipal strategy, what I’d like to see is:

          • Ensuring sustainable economic growth
          • Continue with the riverfront enhancements only if we are ensuring financial responsibility. Needs vs Wants need to be weighed
          • Generational community opportunities; (ensuring we are not just thinking about our town now; but for future generations)
          • Affordable housing options
          • Ensure that French heritage is not put on the back burner
          • New corporate opportunities, growing our town more by bringing work to different areas of the town
          • Work on creating public safety initiatives
          • Ensure there are ample areas in the town to lock up bikes and scooters safely as bike thefts are a growing concern.  This has become a large mode of transportation not just with children but adults as well
          • Transit issues be looked into and see what better options we can provide for our citizens.
          • Mental health and addiction support
          • Build a plan to help seniors on a fixed budget still be able to afford to live in their homes.
          • A sustainable 5 and 10 year plan

I look forward to hearing from you,  and working for you.

Do you believe elected council members should be more transparent with the community, especially parts of the community impacted by decisions they make such as construction and expropriated land?

Do you think we need to prioritize fiscal responsibility to allow for sustainability?

I Certainly do
